  3.         RELEASE 3.00, August 16, 1992
  4.         I spent the summer fixing up some old bugs with TIFF
  5.         files (yes I know that I ignore PM interp). I changed
  6.         MODEL to a mixed large from a mixed compact. Now I have
  7.         a few FAR calls. I had reached about 20 bytes less than
  8.         64k on the code segment. I altered the SCAN routines.
  9.         Handy scan users please report bugs!
  10.         Added VESA support for screens.
  11.         Added XMS support (up to 1 meg) in addition to EMS.
  12.         Changed the memory management routines to work with
  13.         XMS, please report bugs in COPY and MOVE ROTATE etc.
  14.         Made some colorful menus and other stuff.
  15.         Default width is 2048 pixels if XMS is found.
  16.         Worked on the mouse routines, someday they get completely
  17.         rewritten!
  18.         Made the program 100% shareware.
  19.         THERE IS NO LONGER A PRIVATE VERSION!
  20.         Dropped the price to $35.00 shareware.

  23.         Fixed many bugs in image functions, expanded DFI scanner
  24.         functionality. Added TRS-80 HiRes format. Fixed IFF files
  25.         so that they can read the packbits compression. Added
  26.         Complete FAX and Complete Scanner files.

  28.         RELEASE 2.19b, March 26, 1990 - Beta release
  29.         Added 2 more Bload formats. Fixed bug that put small
  30.         horizontal lines on screen when saving files. Added
  31.         Alt-Q back door for quick OPTIKS exit. Added "CLEAN"
  32.         configuration option for Size, Tilt and Shrink functions.

  36.         Bug release to fix black-on-black palette setup on CGA
  37.         and AT&T systems. Fixed LQ-nnnn. Fixed problem with
  38.         the mysteriously appearing logo.

  41.         Fixed more bugs in image routines. Smooth, Gray, Roll,
  42.         and Unstep work. Fixed bug in new video routine.
  43.         Made AT&T first check in auto-detect to avoid divide
  44.         overflow. (Divide overflow came from AT&T Bios).
  45.         Video 7 cannot be saved in config.ok, yet.

  48.         RELEASE 2.17, November 12, 1989
  49.         Fixed bugs in Image routines, Fixed a fix in scanners.
  50.         Scanners work at 300DPI. Removed Jlaser stuff. Fixed
  51.         large volume divide by zero error. Added Mandelbrot Set.
  52.         Fixed the way HP Laserjet print file read works to be
  53.         able to read more types of laserjet files.
  54.         Added FAX files which work with EZ-FAX and Complete FAX.
  55.         Fixed Postscript output to work correctly.
  56.         Changed video screen mode selection menu. Added several
  57.         new (and untested) video modes.
  58.         Fixed Phantom Finger Fault in color mode.
  59.         Fixed the weird way the finger moves when approaching
  60.         the right margin.
  61.         Changed the Shade pattern selection menu.
  62.         Finally have included a finished version of documentation
  63.         as ASCII text file. I will now try to get it into
  64.         Ventura to print it.

  67.         Fixed automatic screen detection routine to correctly
  68.         detect some VGA bios compatibles and work on Mono screens.
  69.         Fixed bugs in Proprinter, SYS and COM files, Soft fonts.

  71.         more reliable. Worked on Cannon scan, don't know if its fixed.

  75.         Added '?' command line to start up in CGA Mono.

  79.         Knocked nearly 20k off of memory requirements.

  83.         Fixed File-Spec bug which caused lock on bad file specs.

  85.         Added boxes with fill patterns to image menu. Added

  87.         Added Deposit and Erode functions which clean up dirty
  88.         images. Added CLIP to image menu.
  89.         Hid Break menu so as not have to document it.
  90.         Fixed bug in printing to files.
  91.         Fixed bug in reading TIFF files with User Tags. (Colera
  92.         and others added their own tags outside of Aldus-MS specs
  93.         and rather than ignore them I aborted the tiff read.)

  97.         Added IMAGE selection menu. Added AutoCAD output files.
  98.         Added GEM Draw output files. Fixed bug in GEM Paint.

  105.         Beta fix to WPG files and test of new file selection
  106.         screen.

  108.         RELEASE 2.12, January 31, 1989
  109.         Added Word Perfect 5.0 WPG file support. This is for Bit Image
  110.         files only. WPG has the ability to handle text and vectors
  111.         (line drawing) as well, but I only supported the bit image
  112.         portion. Added Toshiba 3100 screen support. Fixed bug in ART
  113.         files. Fixed problems reading and writing Mouse Systems Paint
  114.         1.0 files. Added Macro support to command line.

  117.         Fixed more bugs in TIF. Fixed bug in BLOADS. Worked long and
  118.         hard to make mouse routines more human. Added DCX files
  119.         Added Print Shop graphics libraries for read. Fixed
  120.         bug in PCX read. Knocked 10K off of .EXE size. (Optiks uses
  121.         an EXE compressor, so you will not see it). Will continue
  122.         size optimizing for a while. Speeded up MAC, PCX and IMG.
  123.         Added Self scrolling COM files for standalone graphics.
  124.         Added SYS files which put a graphic on the screen during
  125.         boot. Added Newsmaster Library Reads and Newsroom Pro Reads.
  126.         Added a new file selection menu which solves many of the
  127.         file selection problems in the old system. It looks nifty,
  128.         but Optiks old-timers will hate the 2 or 3 extra keystrokes.
  129.         Turned SLD files right side up. Added fix for gray scale Tiffs.
  130.         Added a file "info" option which, for now, displays the width
  131.         and height of a file. As I have time I will add other file
  132.         information.

  134.         Counting variations and permutations, OPTIKS supports more than
  135.         60 file types. This is more like just under 30 "brands" of
  136.         files.

  138.         RELEASE 2.10, October 20, 1988
  139.         Fixed bugs with TIF and MAC files. Created submenus for
  140.         TIF and MAC for the supported types. Added AutoCad SLD
  141.         file support. Fixed bug in Mouse routine. Added Genius
  142.         monitor support (untested). Added Palantir PDA file support.
  143.         TIFF now supports ccitt group 3 compression as does WIPS, PDA
  144.         and ISF. TIFF suports Motorola (MAC) type files without
  145.         MacBinary headers.
